Target audience: Nurses working with cardiac patients and administering cardiac medications.

Objectives:

  • Demonstrate appropriate assessment of chest pain
  • Discuss acute coronary syndrome
  • Describe diagnostic procedures related to heart disease
  • Identify appropriate use of Vasoactive drugs on a progressive care unit
  • Discuss mechanism of antiarrhythmic medications
  • State the primary goals of treatment for angina and or myocardial infarction
