It Won't Happen to Me
This program offered by the Pastoral Care Department
discusses the need to make end-of-life plans.
Frequently asked questions regarding advance directives
will be answered.

Benefit of Memories
This program takes a look at the cohesiveness
that the sharing of memories can have for your
family. Different methods will be discussed through
a Powerpoint Presentation.

Blood Pressure Screenings
The Generations Center or Wellness Center staff
members will take blood pressures for your civic
group, company or church organization at no charge.
Hip and Knee Pain seminar
This program addresses many causes for problems
with bone and joints as well as possible treatment
regimes. Question and answer session is included.

Brown Bag Medications
A Hospital pharmacist will review your current
medications looking specifically for outdated,
unnecessary, duplicate or dangerous medication
combinations. Smaller groups or multiple sessions
are required for this program.

Buddy Check 12
Buddy Check 12 is co-sponsored by Southeast Missouri
Hospital and KFVS-TV 12. This program discusses
the importance of breast self-exam and some current
statistics regarding breast cancer. Buddy Check
12 may be presented as a booth for a health fair
or a lecture-type program.

Caring at the End of Life's Journey
Presented through Southeast Hospice, this program
addresses family issues during the final stages
of terminal illness.

Dealing with the loss of a Loved One
This program addresses the loss of a close family
member or friend and allows for interactive participation.
Two 1-hour long sessions or four 1/2 hour
sessions.
Depression in the Elderly
There is a growing concern over depression in
the elderly. This presentation addresses recognition
of symptoms and identifies ways to combat the
problem.

This program deals with the early symptoms, risk
factors and complications of diabetes followed
by a question and answer session.

A large game board with categories pertaining
to healthy aging is used in playing this game.
Play can be divided into team or individuals depending
on the size of your group. This is an entertaining
and informative program regarding the normal effects
of aging.

Hospital dietitians discuss heart healthy or diabetes
management diets as well as developing healthy
eating habits. The Nutrition Bingo Game is an
enjoyable approach to learning healthy portions.

This program is a discussion of the causes and

Stroke or Brain Attack
Symptoms, risk factors and treatment for brain
attack (stroke) will be explained. The program
also discusses healthy lifestyles to avoid a brain
attack.

Wellness Screenings
Generations staff members will perform glucose,
cholesterol and lipid screenings for your group
of 10 or more. The lipid profile requires a 10-hour
fast, and the glucose requires at least a 2-hour
fast. Call for current fees.
When Is It Time to Choose a Nursing Home?
Addresses issues a family faces when care of an
elderly family member must be decided.
