Southeast Foundation receives generous donation from Kohl's

The Youth Diabetes Care Network of Southeast Missouri Hospital has received an $11,215 donation from the Cape Girardeau Kohl’s store as part of its Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program. The check was presented in December 2006.

Through the Kohl’s Cares for Kids® program, Kohl’s stores across the country feature a number of special items for $5 each with 100 percent of the net profits benefiting children’s health and educational opportunities in Kohl’s communities nationwide. Locally, Kohl’s partners with Southeast Missouri Hospital, which established the region’s first Pediatrics service in 1948.

Southeast Missouri Hospital programs for children with diabetes and their families include telephone lifestyle counseling; Camp DAY Break, a summer camp for children with diabetes offered in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association; a Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic, in cooperation with SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis; and
educational programs on living with diabetes for children, parents, grandparents, caregivers and educators.
