Our Hospital offers a number of classes to help
prepare you for your new arrival.
We urge you to register as soon as your pregnancy
is confirmed by your doctor because classes fill

| Childbirth
Preparation Saturday All-Day Class
Childbirth Preparation Monday Evening Class
Childbirth Preparation Thursday Evening Class
For first-time mothers and support persons, these
classes cover labor and delivery, breathing exercises,
relaxation techniques, cesarean delivery and newborn
care. Both an evening and all-day Saturday version
are offered for busy parents.
Childbirth
Refresher Class
Designed for women who have had a child and their
support persons, this review session addresses
labor and delivery, relaxation techniques, breathing
exercises and cesarean delivery.
Grandparenting Series
A multi-faceted series that covers subjects such
as current childcare safety issues, long distance
communication and preserving memories.
Newborn
Massage
Taught by a certified newborn massage instructor,
this course demonstrates the techniques and benefits
of daily infant massage.
Infant Massage
The goal of infant massage is to teach parents simple, gentle, yet firm massage techniques that can be used with infants after their initial six weeks of life. The class is taught by a certified massage therapist.
Sibling
Class
For children ages 4 to 10, Sibling Class prepares
them for the baby’s needs and for changes
in the family when the baby arrives.
Our
New Baby
For ages 2 to 4, Our New Baby is a class to attend
with Mom and Dad to talk about the changes a new
baby will mean for all of them.
Infant
CPR Class
This class teaches parents infant/child CPR,
appropriate response to choking and accident prevention.
Breastfeeding
Class Tuesday afternoon
Breastfeeding
Class Saturday Morning
Taught by a certified lactation counselor, this
class covers the benefits of breastfeeding, breastfeeding
techniques and nutrition information.
Epidural Evaluation Wednesday Morning
Epidural
Evaluation Monday Evening
Southeast offers this two-hour class weekly for
expectant moms considering epidural anesthesia
during their labor and delivery.

Parent Adventure Newsletter –
All parents of babies born at Southeast receive
in the mail eight free issues of the Parent Adventure
newsletter (newborn through two years). Produced
by our Generations staff, content of this publication
includes developmental milestones, age-appropriate
childcare, and play activities.
